Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a shop?

We don't have a physical shop and our address is not accessible to the public. However, we do carry out consultations locally. Please contact us to discuss this.

Which measurements do I need?

Once you place an order for a pair of Gunn & Grant Trews we'll send you an email requesting your measurements. All you have to do is follow our straightforward measuring guide and send them to hello@gunnandgrant.com.

The measurements we need are: Waist, Hip/Seat, Inside Leg and Outside Leg. See some more information on how it works.

The waist size I've measured is much larger than my jeans size. Is this right?

This is very common. Our waist measurement is sometimes referred to as the 'true waist' and is usually higher than where you wear jeans and around a wider part of the body. So don't be alarmed!

How do the free alterations work?

We provide a straightforward measuring guide. If you're not completely satisfied with the fit, we'll pay for any alterations up to the value of £30. Keep the receipt from the alterations and contact us. You can redeem this offer once at any point during the lifetime of the trews. Learn more on our alterations page.

Can I get a tartan sample?

Of course. Order one of our tartan sample and measuring packs. You'll get a sample as well as tape measure with a comprehensive measuring guide. You'll also receive a discount code to get the cost of the pack off a pair of trews. If you'd like more than 1 tartan swatch, email us and we will do our best to help.

I have my own fabric. Can you make trews for me using this?

Yes absolutely. Get in touch and we'll give you a 20% discount code and further details of where to send the material.

Do you have a size guide for highland jackets?

Yes, you can see our size guide here. Our jackets are available in short, regular and long. We list the corresponding sleeve length for each size.

Can I have my trews made in a lighter weight tartan fabric?

Our tartan trews are made from a heavyweight 16oz cloth as standard. However, if you would prefer your trews to be made from a lighter 13oz tartan, contact us, as we can usually accommodate this request.

I can't see the tartan I want. Can you help?

If you can't see the tartan you want for your trews get in touch. We like a challenge and can usually provide what you're looking for.

How long will my trews take to make?

Gunn & Grant trews are handcrafted according to your specifications right here in Scotland, so please allow 3-5 weeks from placing your order to despatch of your purchase. Depending on how busy we are, the length of time may be shorter. Occasionally there may be cloth availability issues resulting in a delay. In this instance, we will notify you by email.

Where do you ship to?

Worldwide.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery worldwide is FREE for our tartan trews and highland jackets. The cost of shipping our tartan sample and measuring packs will be calculated at checkout.  Any import duties and fees charged by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer.

What is Klarna?

Klarna is a payment provider that allows you to purchase goods and pay later. For more information and to see all relevant terms and conditions, see our dedicated Klarna page.

I'm allergic to wool. Do you make your trews with a lining?

All our trews are half-lined as standard. This means they are lined on the front side down to the knee. If you are allergic to wool or find it an irritant, we are happy to make them completely lined. Simply request this when ordering or when submitting your measurements.

Do you accept returns?

Due to the made to order nature of Gunn & Grant trews, we can not accept returns after you have received your order. This does not affect your legal rights. To avoid disappointment, please follow our measuring guide carefully.

If you've ordered one of our highland jackets we offer a 30-day exchange or refund policy. Get in touch with your order number and request.
